Burnley's Chris McCann happy with return to best form
McCann's last goal at Turf Moor came in February 2009
Burnley midfielder Chris McCann says he feels that he is almost back to his best form after recovering from a series of knee injuries.
The 24-year-old scored his first goal of the season in Burnley's 3-2 Carling Cup extra-time win over Barnet on Tuesday evening.
The Irishman told BBC Radio Lancashire: "I feel like the more I play the better I'm going to get.
"I feel like I'm now getting back to where I want to be," he added.
McCann joined Burnley as a 16-year-old and was appointed the club's new captain during the summer.
It's only going to be a matter of time until we start to gel because we've played some nice football

He missed the majority of the last two seasons with a knee injury but has played in every game since making his comeback against Derby County in April.
"We are getting there slowly, we are starting to play a lot better as a team and hopefully it's all going to click," said McCann.
Burnley are still looking for their first Championship win of the season but the midfielder is confident in the side's abilities.
"Our only wins have come in the Carling Cup so obviously it's a bit edgy at the moment but we are a strong bunch of guys and strong characters in the changing room as well.
"It's only going to be a matter of time until we start to gel because we've played some nice football albeit we've not taken as many chances as we could have done.
"We've got a new group of players, young good players and hungry players who want to be back in the Premier League and it won't be long until we get some wins under our belt," added McCann.
