Gudjonsson scored seven goals during his three years at Burnley
Icelandic midfielder Joey Gudjonsson has left Burnley by mutual consent.
The 29-year-old was out of contract this summer but has reached an agreement with the club that sees him leave Turf Moor with immediate effect.
Gudjonsson was suspended for two weeks last month following his criticism of manager Brian Laws prior to the Clarets' 4-1 win at Hull City.
He made 109 appearances after joining in the summer of 2007, but started only one league fixture this season.
The former Aston Villa, Wolves and Leicester player scored seven goals in total during his three-year spell with Burnley, having joined the club from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar for a fee of £150,000.
