Burnley centre-forward Steve Thompson believes he has plenty still to prove in the Championship.
The 29-year-old joined the Clarets from Cardiff City on a free transfer on transfer deadline day.
"I definitely think I have a point to prove and I'm determined to do that," Thompson told BBC Lancashire.
"I turn 30 next month and would like to consider myself an experienced player and hopefully I can bring something to an already experienced side."
Thompson admitted he had mixed fortunes during his time at Ninian Park.
"It was up and down, lots of good times and not so good times," he said.
"I was in the side when I first arrived and then Robbie Fowler and Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink came in, so I think a fresh start is what was required."
