David Unsworth is mulling over a one-year player/coach offer
Burnley have offered new terms to five players but have released John Spicer.
Brian Jensen, David Unsworth, James O'Connor, Jon Harley and Jay Rodriguez were out of contract in the summer but manager Owen Coyle wants them to stay.
Coyle has reiterated his desire to keep on-loan striker Andy Cole. "He's not our player but if Sunderland decide not to renew his deal we'd be keen."
Coyle told BBC Radio Lancashire he is prepared to listen to offers for second-choice goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly.
"I've told both the lads I'm going to bring a new goalkeeper in. Brian has done very well after bouncing back from a couple of mistakes.
"It's up to him to take it or leave it - I think there's a role for him but ultimately that's up to Brian."
Veteran defender Unsworth, 34, has been offered a one-year deal as a player/coach with a remit to help the club's younger players.

Burnley boss Owen Coyle
"David has an awful lot of assets. If he accepts he'll be brought in line with the rest of the coaching staff. He's been terrific for us as a player - all I'm saying is he might think it's a very good career move." said Coyle.
Striker Rodriguez, 18, has been offered a two-year contract after being fast-tracked into the first team squad this season along with teenagers Adam Kay and Alex MacDonald, who have been offered first year professional terms.
Spicer follows former Bournemouth team mate Garreth O'Connor out of Turf Moor.
On-loan players Stanislav Varga and Mark Randall have returned to their parent clubs, Sunderland and Arsenal respectively.
