Burnley midfielder Chris McCann is set to make his 100th league appearance for the club against Plymouth on Saturday.
But the fact is slightly lost on the 21-year-old who had no idea he was approaching such a landmark.
"I didn't realise it would be my 100th game, but it's all down to me just working hard to keep my place in the team," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
McCann made his debut for Burnley in the 4-0 win over Coventry City in August 2005.
He has since gone onto score 13 goals for the club and represent Republic of Ireland at under-21 level.
"You've just got to keep setting yourself new goals and keep wanting to be a better player.
"It's all happened really quickly for me over the last couple of seasons and I'm pleased with the progress," the midfielder added.
McCann scored his first goal of the season against Oldham in the Carling Cup on Tuesday and wants to contribute more in the final third of the pitch.
"I would like to add a few more goals.
"Last season I got five but I could have scored a lot more, but hopefully I can score more this season to help the team."
