Lafferty was a target for Celtic during the January transfer window |
Burnley have rebuffed interest from Championship rivals Wolves in Northern Ireland striker Kyle Lafferty. The 19-year-old, who was the subject of a 500,000 bid by Celtic in January, signed a new contract in March which ties him to Turf Moor until 2010.
"(Wolves manager) Mick McCarthy called me and he enquired about Kyle, although there were no bids made," Cotterill told the Burnley Express newspaper.
"It didn't take me long to say we didn't want Kyle to go anywhere."
Cotterill added: "Their chief executive Jez Moxey then spoke to our chairman and that was
rebuffed. We wouldn't want to sell Kyle."
Lafferty scored four goals in 16 starts and 21 substitute appearances last season.
