Disley and Rovers are three points off the top 10 with seven games remaining
Midfielder Craig Disley says Bristol Rovers need to get back to winning ways for next season as much as this after losing 2-1 at home to Huddersfield.
The Pirates have now lost two of their last three games after a six-match unbeaten run pushed them up the table.
"Hopefully it's just a blip," Disley told BBC Radio Bristol after the loss.
"We've got to finish strongly. If we want to start next season we'll we have to finish well. This year we started sloppy because we finished sloppy."
Rovers failed to win any of their final four games of the 2007/08 campaign, losing their last three when they scored just a single goal.
And this season they lost six of their opening nine games in all competitions and won only one of their first nine League One matches, although they have since recovered and sit 14th in the table and clear of relegation worries.
"If we look to last year we were pretty shocking in the last six or seven games and we've got to make sure that as a team we work hard and progress," Disley added.
"But with the management we've got in place they're not going to let us rest on our laurels and take it easy for the rest of the season so we're looking for a good finish and to get in that top 10."
