Darren Potter's late free-kick earned Sheffield Wednesday a point against mid-table Bristol City.
Lee Johnson had given Bristol City a first-half lead with a superb strike from the edge of the area following Nicky Maynard's intelligent pass.
Bristol City had several chances to extend their lead with Ivan Sproule and Izz Iriekpen both going close.
Wednesday improved in the second period and following several missed chances Potter curled home from 20-yards.
Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws:"We failed to keep the ball when City scored.
"But I have to credit the players for keeping going because end of season matches can sometimes be like testimonial games.
"There were plenty of sharp tackles in this one and Darren's free kick was placed into the net with perfection."
Bristol City manager Gary Johnson:"The last part of the season has fizzled out for us.
"But there are still a lot of clubs in the Championship who would like to change places with us.
"Our fans showed at the end that they have appreciated our efforts, despite missing out on the play-offs and we will try to reward them next season."
