Lambert is staying with Rovers until 2011

Striker Rickie Lambert has signed a new three-year contract with Bristol Rovers which will keep him at the Memorial Ground until the summer of 2011.

The 26-year-old had told BBC Radio Bristol within the past two weeks that he was close to agreeing a new deal.

Lambert, who joined the Pirates from Rochdale for �200,000 in 2006, has scored in every league game this term.

He is expected to celebrate his new deal by making his 100th start for Rovers against Walsall on Saturday.
