Interview: Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope
Bristol Rovers manager Paul Trollope says he has already seen promising signs from his new strike partnership.
Trollope believes Rickie Lambert and Darryl Duffy will help the Pirates improve on last season's record of averaging below a goal per league game.
"Rickie and Darryl started to combine well," Trollope told BBC Points West after the 3-2 home defeat to Carlisle.
"I'm confident they'll score goals. We did look more of a threat. Even in defeat there were a lot of positives."
Trollope said his side deserved a draw from their fixture at home to last season's play-off semi-finalists.
"I think we were beaten by a good side," said Trollope. "We knew they were a good attacking side.
"Overall, we were worth a point out of the game. Our biggest crime was conceding very shortly after going into the lead."
