Bristol Rovers striker Rickie Lambert says he intends to sign a new contract with the club but insists there is no hurry for it to be sorted out.
Rovers' top scorer last season with 19 goals has just one year left on his current deal at the Memorial Stadium.
"We're still in negotiations and I've told them I want to be here," Lambert told BBC Radio Bristol.
"There's no rush as I'm going to be here this season, and at the moment I want to concentrate on getting fitter."
Lambert, a 200,000 signing from Rochdale two years ago, has proved his worth to Rovers attracting headlines during the side's FA Cup run to the quarter-finals last season.
But the 26-year-old says he is keen to stay with Rovers and is looking forward to playing alongside new signing Darryl Duffy.
"He's a good player so hopefully we can get a good partnership going and score a lot of goals."
"The more matches we play the more understanding the strikers will have with each other," he added.
