Bristol City sign Plymouth defender Gary Sawyer on loan
Sawyer has made 32 appearances for Argyle this season
Bristol City have signed Plymouth defender Gary Sawyer in a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old, who is out of contract at Home Park this summer, has made 95 first team appearances for the Pilgrims since turning pro in 2002.
City caretaker manager Keith Millen is seeking left back cover to deal with an injury crisis at Ashton Gate.
Devon-born Sawyer has also spent a two-year period on loan at Exeter, making 62 appearances for the Grecians.
With Jamie McAllister out for up to six weeks with an ankle injury and Lewin Nyatanga also nursing a knock, Sawyer is likely to go straight into the side to face Peterborough on Saturday.
