Sproule scored in Bristol City's recent 3-1 win away to Leicester City

Bristol City midfielder Ivan Sproule is facing up to three weeks on the sidelines after injuring his hamstring against Doncaster on Saturday.

The 28-year-old Northern Irishman was taken off just before half time in the 1-0 defeat at the Keepmoat Stadium.

"Our medical staff sent Ivan for a scan and it's shown up a strain," boss Gary Johnson told the club website.

"Everyone's really disappointed for Ivan, especially as he had only just got back in the team."

Johnson added: "It's likely he'll be out for around three weeks. We'll give him all the time needed for recovery."
