Gary Johnson was delighted to see Bristol City lined up for a possible FA Cup fourth-round tie with Histon.
The City manager used to play for the non-leaguers and, while both clubs are yet to progress from the third round, a potential meeting adds incentive.
He told BBC Radio Bristol: "It's a good draw. You can't get too excited but I hope it's Histon for personal reasons."
Johnson's Championship side face a replay against holders Portsmouth, while Histon are yet to meet Swansea.
The Robins came away with a goalless draw from Fratton Park and face Premiership Pompey again on Tuesday 13 January, the same night that Histon will host Swansea after their original meeting was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
Johnson added: "I lived up in that area running a successful business and playing part time for Newmarket, Histon and Soham, flitting and flirting between whoever would have me.
"I enjoyed my time at Histon and I've got links with the manager Steve Fallon, who's been in that area for a long time, and of course John Beck, who I worked with at Cambridge for seven years. We had some good times together."
Johnson was pleased to get a potential home draw in the next round but knows there's work to be done for both City and Histon if his dream tie is to come to fruition.
"Swansea are going to be formidable, but Histon will give them a game and that won't be an easy tie for Swansea," he said.
"And we've got to try and get through the Portsmouth one if we can."
