Elliott has not featured in any of City's pre-season games

Bristol City's Marvin Elliott is set to play his first game of the pre-season schedule this weekend.

The 25-year-old midfielder is due to figure in Saturday's friendly at Bournemouth (1500 BST) after recovering from a foot injury.

Elliott, who was outstanding last season, has yet to play in any of City's five pre-season matches.

Liam Fontaine and Gavin Williams will both step up training next week after recovering from ankle problems.

Jamie McCombe will miss out again this weekend with a shin complaint.

The defender has been troubled with the problem for a number of pre-seasons as a result of the hard grounds.
