Brighton goalkeeper Casper Ankergren urges caution

Brighton and Hove Albion goalkeeper Casper Ankergren says the League One leaders must keep their focus until they have guaranteed promotion.

The Seagulls need eight points from their remaining seven games to secure their passage to the Championship.

"It is the final push but it's not going to be easy," the 31-year-old told BBC Sussex.

"With Leeds last season we almost slipped up. We won it on the last day. I'm not taking anything for granted."

The Danish stopper added: "A few years ago back in Denmark with Brondby we went into the winter break 16 points clear of FC Copenhagen with 15 games to go.

"When we played them at home with six games to go we were only three points clear.

"There's some hard work to be done.

"We have to be ready and play our best, otherwise we'll be struggling."
