Brighton winger Elliott Bennett says the upturn in the club's fortunes can be traced back to Gus Poyet's appointment as manager.
The Seagulls were struggling when the Uruguayan took charge 11 months ago, but they now sit top of League One.
Bennett, 21, told BBC Sussex: "It's a massive transformation.
"Gus has come in and imposed his ideas on the team. He's instilled a confidence in all out our abilities and has got us playing in the right way."
He added: "It shows what a difference a year makes.

"It's a completely different club to when I first came.
"We had good players already but the new players have added something.
"It's absolutely brilliant to be in a team that's doing well and top of the league," he said.
"But it's still early days. We need to keep pushing on."
