Brighton goalkeeper Peter Brezovan will miss the start of the season after breaking his wrist in training.
The 30-year-old Slovakian will be out for between four and six weeks.
Manager Gus Poyet said:"Peter could be sidelined for a month, so Michael Poke and Mitch Walker have the next few games to stake their claim.
"Peter was first choice after his excellent end to last season. But this presents a chance for one of the other two goalkeepers to seize the shirt."
