Veteran Brighton striker Nicky Forster has been ruled out of action for between four and six weeks after undergoing an operation on his knee.
Albion are hoping to sign a replacement for the 35-year-old, who twisted his knee during a training session.
Manager Micky Adams told BBC Southern Counties Radio: "He's had cruciate ligament damage in the past but the surgeon has repaired a cartilage."
"There's significant bleeding in there," he added.
