Brighton will build a 22,000-seater stadium at Falmer
Brighton can step up their plans for moving into a new stadium after receiving news that no appeal has been lodged against the planning permission.

The Department for Communities and Local Government have confirmed that none of the opponents to the Falmer project have challenged the verdict.

Albion chairman Dick Knight told the club's website: "This is wonderful news and this is a momentous day

"Now we can really start planning for the future."

Brighton can now move ahead to build a new 22,000-seater stadium in Falmer.

The League One side, who currently play at the Withdean Stadium, have been without a permanent home since 1997.
