Henderson moved to the Withdean Stadium last season |
Brighton caretaker boss Dean Wilkins has turned down a transfer request from goalkeeper Wayne Henderson. Henderson, 23 on Saturday, joined the Seagulls from Aston Villa in January and made his international debut for the Republic of Ireland in the summer.
He started Albion's first five league games this season, but Michel Kuipers has since been preferred in goal.
Henderson was then left out of the first-team squad for Tuesday's 2-2 draw against Bournemouth.
First-year professional John Sullivan, 18, is expected to be on the bench again for Saturday's game against Leyton Orient, as cover for Kuipers.
"His request has been denied after discussions between myself, (assistant) Dean White and the chairman," Wilkins told the Seagulls' website.
"Wayne's timing was very inappropriate. That was the reason for leaving him out of the squad completely, and that's how it is at the moment."
