Henderson has finally completed his move to the south coast |
Brighton boss Mark McGhee is pleased to have finally signed Aston Villa goalkeeper Wayne Henderson - but says Michel Kuipers is first choice for now. Republic of Ireland Under-21 star Henderson, 22, will cost Albion 20,000, plus a further 15,000 if they avoid relegation from the Championship.
"They're as good a combination as any in the division," McGhee told BBC Southern Counties Radio.
"Wayne's distribution is top drawer, as is Michel's shot-stopping."
He added: "If you fused the two of them, you would have the England keeper - or a half Irish, half Dutch one!
"Michel has found his form and appetite again - it's taken the threat of Wayne or someone coming to do that."
Henderson enjoyed a successful loan spell at the Withdean Stadium earlier this season - and has finally made the move permanent, after a row over an agent's fee had put it in doubt.
He has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract at Withdean.
