Hamer was praised for his role in Brentford's promotion in 2008/09
Brentford have re-signed goalkeeper Ben Hamer from Reading on loan until the end of January.
The 22-year-old has already made 70 appearances for the Bees during three previous loan spells at the club.
Manager Andy Scott told the club website: "He has done extremely well for us in the past and I'm delighted to finally agree a deal to bring him back.
"I have said throughout I wanted two first-team keepers competing for a first-team place and now I have."
Hamer is a former favourite at Griffin Park having won the Golden Glove award in the Bee's League Two Championship winning 2008/09 season, keeping 20 clean sheets.
Brentford's first-team keeper Alex McCarthy has returned to the Madejeski stadium as his one-month loan has come to an end.
