Elder (centre) has scored seven goals for Brentford this season
Brentford striker Nathan Elder will miss the rest of the season after fracturing his cheekbone at Rotherham.
"He's in a bad way and that's his season over," Bees manager Andy Scott told BBC London 94.9.
"It looks like he has smashed his cheekbone and hopefully it hasn't done the eyesocket as well but it looks that way to be honest.
"He has gone to the hospital with Ben Hamer, who got a whack in the chest in the first half and he's got problems."
Scott added: "Obviously it has soured a good result because it was a fantastic team effort in a tough place to come and the pitch isn't really conducive to playing much football.
"I am delighted to get a point but obviously really disappointed and gutted for Nathan that that is his season gone now."
Scott also played tribute to long-serving midfielder Kevin O'Connor, who made his 350th appearance for the club at the Don Valley Stadium.
"People forget Kevin is playing sometimes because he just does his job and is so reliable. He loves the club he puts every effort into training and playing and is a credit to himself and a major asset to us," he said.
