Brentford's new assistant manager Terry Bullivant said he had no hesitation in returning to Griffin Park.
It is the former Reading and Barnet manager's third spell at the club for which he also played.
He told BBC London 94.9: "It was very easy [to return], for a number of different reasons.
"I worked with Andy [Scott] here and took it as a great compliment having coached him that he asked me to come here and coach alongside him."
He added: "I've missed football and I've always had a great affection for Brentford. I've had some good times here as a player, I had some terrific times as a coach and let's hope it can happen again.
"So I had no hesitation in coming back. It's a very well supported club and I am looking forward to carrying that on."
