Bradford City's James Hanson believes he can rediscover his goalscoring form during the reminder of the season.

The 23-year-old striker has been plagued by injury and inconsistency this season, resulting in him netting only five goals in 20 appearances.

Hanson told BBC Radio Leeds: "If I can get a good run of games under my belt then I'm still confident I can get the goals again.

"I'm still setting my target at 15 for the season, so just another 10 to get."

Hanson scored 13 times in his debut Football League season, but has struggled with various niggling injuries this campaign, including hamstring and back problems.

And even when he returned to fitness he was then left frustrated when a handful of games were postponed because of the snow late last year.

"Some of the other guys that were still injured were pleased those games were off because it meant they were missing less games and would be fit to play in them later in the year," said Hanson.

"But for me I just wanted and needed to play as I'd finally got fully fit again, so it was frustrating. But that's part of football and you have to get on with it.

"I know I can do a lot better. Form wise I'm well off my best. I just need to get my head down, keep working hard and I know if I get one chance it will go in and then I can get on a run.

"My target at the start of the season was 20 goals, but now I just have to look to get into double figures. Fifteen is a realistic target now.

"I just need to stay positive and stay clear of injuries. I've scored five goals in 20 games, so if I can get another 15-20 games under my belt I'd hope to get at least 10 goals in that time.

"That won't be a bad return for the games I've played and injuries I've had."
