Bradford City will not be forced into selling midfielder Chris Brandon.
Brandon was one of four high earners told they could leave the Bantams in a bid to balance the books, but two of those have since left.
The 33-year-old suffered an injury plagued first season at Valley Parade, making only seven appearances.
McCall told BBC Radio Leeds: "Since he's come back in pre-season he's been really sharp in training and in games. He's getting a lot of football."
"He's a naturally fit lad but he's been out for a long time. He's back now playing and having a really good pre-season.
"Not only is he looking fit, he's looking sharp and showing the ability that we brought him to the club for."
Brandon joined his boyhood club on a two-year contract after being released by Huddersfield Town last summer.
