Bradford manager Stuart McCall believes they have a great chance of promotion if they continue to play as they did in Saturday's loss at Brentford.
Bradford had a host of chances but succumbed to an injury-time 2-1 defeat.
McCall told BBC Radio Leeds: "If they play like that for the rest of the season then we'll be up there.
"Throughout the team we defended strongly, played some good stuff on a heavy pitch and I'm absolutely devastated to lose the game."
He added: "We never got what we deserved, without a doubt."
Bradford looked to have snatched an equaliser as Michael Boulding drew them level right at the death, only for Nathan Elder to score with the final kick of the game for Brentford.
"I was proud of the lads," said McCall. "I thought they were excellent."
"We created so many chances so that's a real boost.
"He [referee Gavin Ward] gives a foul against Michael Boulding when he's got the ball - probably the only person who gives a free-kick there - and then another soft one here when Elder's been backing in all day.
"To lose it in that manner after they've played fantastic - I'm gutted.
It's a cruel game but we move on and look to Chester next week

"But I take more out of the game than I did when we got the point at Dagenham because I'm sure if we play like that for the rest of the season we'll definitely be up there."
The defeat at Griffin Park saw Bradford drop to fifth in the table and McCall said there was no time to feel sorry for themselves.
"We've just got to get on with it and pick ourselves up, but I take more out of that because I thought the performance was excellent.
