McLaren (r) has decided to drop down from League One to Two

Bradford City have completed the Bosman signing of Tranmere Rovers midfielder Paul McLaren on a two-year deal.

The 31-year-old was Rovers' player of the year last season but turned down the chance of a new deal at the club to drop down a division.

McLaren, who played for Luton between 1993 and 2001, has also played for Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham.

McLaren is Bradford's second signing in two days following the arrival of former Doncaster defender Graeme Lee.
