Evans has made 447 league appearances for seven clubs |
Midfielder Paul Evans is set to rejoin Bradford City for a second spell later this week. The 32-year-old Wales international has been training at Valley Parade - where he played between 2002 and 2004 - after spending last season with Swindon.
Robins boss Paul Sturrock had offered him the chance to prove his fitness and earn a new deal, but Evans has instead opted for a return to the north.
"My aim all along was to get a contract here," he told the Telegraph & Argus.
"I've had a few offers from other clubs, and one wanted me to sign straight away.
"But as soon as I had a chat with the gaffer (Stuart McCall) and Wayne Jacobs, I knew I wanted to be here again."
Evans made 42 league appearances in his first two-season spell at Bradford.
But his year at Swindon was disrupted by injuries, and he has not played since Christmas 2006.
