Cherries boss Bond backs Mostyn

Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond
Bond wants fans to back Cherries chairman Mostyn

Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond says fans should get behind current club chairman Jeff Mostyn.

Mostyn was named as the preferred bidder for the club on Tuesday, after pumping in 80,000 to ensure that the wage bill was met for April.

"It's incredible so many people have an opinion on what is best for the club, and are criticising left, right and centre," Bond told BBC Radio Solent.

"Jeff needs an awful lot of credit for taking this challenge on."

Administrator Gerald Krasner expects a conclusion by early June.

The Cherries have been in administration since early February, earning them a mandatory 10-point deduction from the Football League.

Since then, there have been a number of attempts to buy the club.

But Bond added: "Once again Jeff is the only man left standing. He's mad to want to take the club on."
