Outgoing Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn has given his support to the club's new owners but is disappointed that his bid to buy the club failed.
Mostyn's consortium lost to a rival bid led by businessman Marc Jackson in a head-to-head contest on Tuesday.
"My ambitions have always remained the same. Things just haven't panned out," he told BBC Radio Solent.
"When I arrived 18 months ago, I was a very trusting person. I am no longer the same trusting person today."
He added: "We did not achieve the success in finding the right partners to take the club forward.
"I would like to go on record and wish Marc [Jackson] and his consortium every success.
"I still want nothing but success for this football club. If there is anything I can do in the future to help bring that to the club then everybody has got my total support.
"If, for whatever reason, the bid is not fulfilled then we live to fight another day. I have never walked away from the football club.
"I am still here and I will be here on Saturday come what may."
