Cherries chief in wedding dilemma

Bournemouth

Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn must choose between attending his daughter's wedding, or his side's crucial League One relegation decider next Saturday.

The Cherries go to Carlisle looking for a seventh straight win, although a draw may possibly be enough to keep them up.

The situation has added irony with the fact that Mostyn seemed to be on his way out of the club, before takeover talks with other parties stalled.

"The clash couldn't have been worse," Mostyn told BBC Radio Solent.

Who would have thought 10 weeks ago, that we could possibly still be involved in a survival bid?

Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn
"Obviously I'm going to give my beautiful daughter Janine away, but if I can sort out someone with a very fast plane to whisk me up there afterwards, then I will!"

The Cherries seemed odds-on for the drop, when they went into administration earlier this year, and had 10 points deducted.

But a run of six successive wins though has taken them to within just a point of safety, with one game remaining.

"Who would have thought 10 weeks ago, that we could possibly still be involved in a survival bid?" Mostyn added.

"It's a tremendous credit to Kevin and the players that we're still in with a chance.

"BBC Radio Solent have told me that they're going to sort me out a link, so I can listen to the game at the wedding!"
