Jeff Mostyn says Bournemouth's fans will still have a part to play if his consortium takes control of the club. An extraordinary general meeting will be held on 3 March to consider the proposed takeover of the Cherries.
"It's a community club, run by the supporters for the supporters," Mostyn told BBC South Today.
"While that is extremely noble, we have to change the ethos so it is run as a successful business for the supporters, with the supporters' involvement."
Mostyn's three-man consortium includes current Cherries chairman Abdul Jaffer and associate director Steve Sly.
However, he has claimed that the club could fall into receivership - and risk being thrown out of the Football League - if shareholders do not approve the consortium's plan.
