Bournemouth chairman Peter Phillips is to stand down after four years - and hopes current vice-chairman Abdul Jaffer will take on the role. "I've done it for four years. It's time for a change," said Phillips. "This is an opportunity for the board to find someone who can do a better job.
"There's a natural successor on the board in my vice-chairman but I'm not sure he'll want to do it."
Phillips, 57, oversaw the sale and leaseback of Dean Court.
The move was seen as vital in securing the cash-strapped club's survival.
Phillips added: "It's very tough running a business which is skint and constantly trying to compete with richer clubs on the pitch.
"I'd be very surprised if I'm still here in a couple of months. In fact I might not be here in a couple of days."
Bournemouth have extended Southampton striker Leon Best's loan spell for a further two months. The 20-year-old had moved along the south coast for an initial month-long spell just before the start of the season.
