Bournemouth defender Warren Cummings will have an operation on Tuesday to remove a plate in the leg that he broke in March 2005. The left-back missed the entire 2005/06 season because of that injury, but returned to action as a substitute on the opening day of this season.
Playing through the pain barrier, he has made 16 appearances this term.
But the 26-year-old Scot will now go under the knife - and is not expected back in action before Christmas.
