Cummings and Coutts have both agreed to stay with the Cherries |
Bournemouth defender Warren Cummings - who has not played since March 2005 after breaking his leg - has agreed a new one-year contract at Dean Court. Cherries boss Sean O'Driscoll said of the 25-year-old Scot: "He's regarded as potentially the best left-back in this division, if not higher.
"He's been training with us this summer and fingers crossed he'll get back - it will be like having a new player."
Midfielder James Coutts, 19, has also agreed a new one-year deal.
O'Driscoll added: "James has definitely got potential - he showed it in flashes when he came off the bench.
"But I think next season is a big season for him. He's either going to break into the team, or he may have to find some other way into professional football."
Cummings has made 118 senior appearances in total for Bournemouth, having joined from Chelsea after impressing in two loan spells - while Coutts, who was first named on the bench while a 16-year-old schoolboy, featured 15 times for the first team in 2005/06.
