Bolton boss Owen Coyle will not stop Gary Cahill exit
Gary Cahill suffered a blood clot in his arm in February
Bolton manager Owen Coyle says he will not stop England hopeful Gary Cahill leaving if a 'big club' comes in with a bid for the centre back this summer.
Cahill, 24, joined Bolton from Aston Villa for £5m in 2008 and has been linked with several clubs this season.
He is also in the running for a place in Fabio Capello's World Cup squad.
"I have always said, regardless of what club I am at, if there comes a time when any player outgrows the club, I won't stand in their way," said Coyle.
Cahill has played 32 times for Bolton this term, scoring seven times but had been ruled out for the season after suffering a blood clot in his arm in February.
However, the defender returned against Manchester United on 27 March after only a seven-week lay-off to put himself back in contention for a place in England manager Capello's squad this summer.
And Cahill's inclusion in Capello's selection would surely see his stock rise that much further with Manchester United and Arsenal among the clubs reportedly interested in the centre half.
"I said it to my Burnley lads when I was there - if there is something better for them out there, then they would go and blossom. That will be the same with Gary Cahill," added former Burnley boss Coyle.
"I have got everything crossed that Gary gets to the World Cup because if he does he will be terrific, if he is allowed the opportunity.
"And if that means that he is elevated to a position where they are all going to clamour for him, then good luck for Gary Cahill."
