England prospect Gary Cahill makes reserves comeback
Gary Cahill's return will be a big boost for Bolton
Gary Cahill has made his comeback from a seven-week lay-off after playing for Bolton reserves on Monday.
The 24-year-old centre-back has not played since 30 January after being diagnosed with a blood clot in his arm.
It was initially feared he might be out for the rest of the season, but Cahill was able to play for 90 minutes in Bolton's 3-1 defeat by Manchester City.
Cahill had been in excellent form before the injury, and was regarded as an England World Cup possible.
On Saturday Cahill was an unused substitute for Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Everton.
Cahill's fellow first-team squad members Ali-Al Habsi, Mark Davies, Danny Shittu and Ricardo Vaz Te were also involved in Monday's reserve game.
