Blackpool plan next season regardless of survival bid

Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston says the club are already planning for next season regardless of whether they avoid relegation from the Premier League.

They could stay up if they lose on the final day or could be relegated if they win - depending on other results.

Oyston told BBC Radio Lancashire: "We've made a lot of decisions already on player retention and acquisition.

"We'll continue to redevelop the ground - we'll fill in the corner in the summer, come what may."

The Seasiders are looking to upgrade their outdated training facilities at Squires Gate, something they can afford to do with four years' income from parachute payments guaranteed should they drop back into the Championship.

"There are other developments like the training ground whatever division we're in because the Premier League has given us that opportunity financially to plan for the future over the next four years with absolute certainty," added Oyston.

"It's removed a lot of the day-to-day burden that's been present for the past 10 years."
