Sbai is available for Wednesday's game against West Ham
Blackpool have signed Morocco left-back Salaheddine Sbai on loan and are in talks over a similar deal for Zimbabwe and Plymouth defender Onismor Bhasera.
Sbai, 25, has joined until the end of the season and is eligible to play against West Ham on Wednesday.
There is an option in the summer of extending Nimes full-back Sbai's deal for another year.
Speaking about the move for full-back Bhasera, 25, Argyle manager Peter Reid said: "It should go through."
Sbai, who has won two international caps, began his professional career at Charleroi and was sent on loan to Ronse and Tubize before signing for Nimes.
A loan deal for Bhasera would also be until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent transfer. The Premier League side would have the option of signing the Zimbabwean at the end of the initial loan period.
Reid added: "He's up there at the moment. We get a fee on that as well, which helps what we're trying to do in the terms of paying the tax man."
Blackpool have also confirmed that talks are taking place.
Bhasera has made 32 appearances for Plymouth since joining as a free agent in March.
He began his career with Harare United before moving to South Africa, where he played for Tembisa Classic, Maritzburg United and Kaizer Chiefs.
That led to interest from English clubs. He trained with Portsmouth in summer 2009 but a contract dispute between the English club and Kaizer Chiefs stopped the move.
Sheffield Wednesday were in the race to sign him before he eventually joined Argyle.
