Ooijer was with PSV for nine years before moving to Ewood Park
Blackburn defender Andre Ooijer has confirmed Sunday's game with West Brom will be his last for Rovers before he returns to PSV Eindhoven next season.
The 34-year-old spent nine years with PSV before joining Rovers in 2006, but the Dutch side said in April that they expected him to return this summer.
"It has been a difficult decision as I have had three great years at this club," the centre-back said.
"But it is time for me to go home. I am just happy that Blackburn are safe."
The Netherlands international said he had avoided talking about his future as Blackburn had been involved in the relegation dogfight, but he was grateful for the chance to have played at Ewood Park.
"I am sure I have become a better person because it is a big experience to live abroad and play abroad," he said.
PSV only finished fourth in the Dutch League this season, and Ooijer said he hoped to help them do better next season and also extend his international career.
"I will do what I can to stay in there, there is a World Cup coming up and I would like to go to South Africa," he said.
