Emerton (left) and Neill have been offered new contracts |
Blackburn boss Mark Hughes has told Australian duo Lucas Neill and Brett Emerton they have two weeks to decide on their futures. Neill, 28, and Emerton, 27, have one year left on their contracts but have yet to accept their new offers.
Hughes said: "We hope they will accept. It is my intention for them to stay but we will need an indication from both guys on what way they are thinking.
"In the next couple of weeks I hope we will get that indication."
Emerton has been linked with a move to Middlesbrough, while full-back Neill has been tipped for a switch to Tottenham - if the Londoners fail to capture Wigan's Pascal Chimbonda.
However, Hughes added: "No-one from Middlesbrough has contacted me about Brett.
"There is always speculation when guys are going into the last year of their contracts.
"That is the case with the two Australian guys but I am confident. We have offered them good deals and are hopeful they will accept."
