Birmingham have signed Finnish midfielder Teemu Tainio on loan from Sunderland until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old, who has been capped 46 times by his country, joined the Black Cats from Tottenham in July 2008.
He made 23 appearances for Sunderland and scored the first goal in their recent 4-1 Carling Cup victory over Norwich at Carrow Road.
Tainio arrived at Spurs from Auxerre in July 2005 and played 83 games for the White Hart Lane outfit.
His career began with TP-47 and then FC Haka in Finland before he joined Auxerre in 1997.
