Birmingham snap up Traore on loan

Traore joins Birmingham's bid to win promotion back to the Premier League

Birmingham have signed defender Djimi Traore on an emergency three-month loan deal from Premier League Portsmouth.

Traore, 28, began his career in England with Liverpool, where he won a 2005 Champions League winners medal, before moving to Charlton in August 2006.

Traore joined Pompey for �1m after only five months at The Valley, but has failed to feature regularly for the South Coast club.

He will be at St Andrew's for a maximum of 93 days under the rules of the deal.
