De Ridder was told he did not suit Birmingham's style of play in April

Dutch winger Daniel De Ridder has left Birmingham by mutual consent.

The 27-year-old joined Blues last summer from Spanish side Celta Vigo and signed a three-year deal, which has now been cancelled.

However, the ex-Ajax youngster played in just 12 games for the club as they were relegated from the Premier League after finishing second from bottom.

De Ridder was signed by former Blues boss Steve Bruce, who may again move to sign the player for current club Wigan.
