Blues want to keep hold of their England Under-19 striker
Birmingham City say young striker Sone Aluko will have the chance to prove he has a future at St Andrew's and is not likely to move to Aberdeen permanently.
The 19-year-old has impressed on his season-long loan in the SPL and scored against Bayern Munich in the Uefa Cup.
But Academy boss Terry Westley told the Blues website: "I don't think there's any possibility we'd let Sone leave.
"Pre-season will be a great opportunity for him to show the manager [Alex McLeish] what he can do."
Aluko was also on target in Aberdeen's last league match and boss Jimmy Calderwood is believed to be keen to make the England Under-19 international's temporary stay permanent.
