Ghana international goalkeeper Richard Kingson has joined Birmingham City from Turkish club Antalyaspor. Kingson, 29, passed a medical at St Andrews on Tuesday and has signed a two-year deal with the Blues, with an option for a further two years.
"I have snubbed two offers, one from Denmark and one from Israel. Playing in England has always been my dream," Kingson told BBC Sport.
Kingson had been on loan with Swedish side Hammarby but left on Saturday.
The Swedish club were unable to agree a fee for the player.
Kingson, the brother of Hearts of Midlothian midfielder Laryea Kingston, has a different spelling of his surname due to an irregularity on his identity documents.
Gaining a work permit should not be a problem for the goalkeeper as Kingson has won nearly 50 caps for Ghana.
He came to international attention following a series of excellent performances for Ghana at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
Birmingham also announced the signing of Dutch winger Daniel de Ridder.
