Jermaine Pennant has said he wants to sign for Birmingham on a permanent deal come the end of the season. The midfielder has made a big impact since joining on loan from Arsenal and has enjoyed playing under Steve Bruce.
"All I want to do now is repay the faith that Steve Bruce has shown in me by taking me on loan when he did.
"I'm going to give everything between now and the end of the season and show him what I can do so he will want to keep me on a permanent basis," he said.
Pennant made an impressive debut in the 2-1 home win against Southampton, setting up the opening goal.
Most recently he has followed that up with another influential performance in the victory over Liverpool.
However, his long term future could depend on the sentence he receives next month after pleading guilty to drink-driving when disqualified.
"I'm surprised how well I've done," he added. "I didn't think I would make such an impact straight away but the results have gone well and hopefully myself and the team can carry on the way we are playing."
