Scott Murray and Joe Burnell want new Bath City deals

Experienced Bath City midfielders Scott Murray and Joe Burnell have both revealed their desire to remain at Twerton Park.

Murray, 36, and Burnell, 30, are both out of contract in the summer.

Murray told BBC Radio Bristol: "It's up to the gaffer obviously, but I'd like to stay more than anything."

Burnell said: "I'm really enjoying it here. Hopefully my long-term future is with Bath, it would be good to build on the work we've put in this season."

The former Exeter City man added: "I think we've surprised a few people this year, we're not going to make the play-offs but you never know what we could achieve next year."

Murray, who scored in City's 2-2 draw with Newport on Tuesday, has started just four league games this season but has featured 17 times from the bench.

"I'd rather be starting really but if that's not the case then it's good just to be involved and try and make an impact when I get on," he said.

He combines his playing duties with the Blue Square Bet Premier side with a coaching role at Bristol City.
